1. Open the Control Panel
2. Click on the Save backup copies of your files with the file history option under the System and Security category.

First Way to Restore Backup

Restore your file through the recovery option in your system setting;

2. When your computer restart, a new green window lets you choose an option. Click on Troubleshoot.

3. In Troubleshoot Window, click on Advanced Options.
4. If you find the System Image Recovery option in the Advanced Option, click on it. Else, click on the hyperlink “See more recovery options” at the bottom. In the new window, click on the System Image Recovery options.

5. The new window wants you to select a System image backup. (If you had only one system backup, it would automatically be selected) After selecting your backup image, click on the Next button.

6. A new window shows, “Choose additional restore option,” without any changes; click on the Next button. Finally, another window that shows the date and time, computer name, and other information appears; you can click on the Finish button.

The processing time takes some time, and when it is finished, you are done with the restoring, and your computer will restart.

Second Way to Restore the Backup

If your hardware failed or your system is corrupted, you can use this alternative way to restore the backup in Windows 11.

1. Boot the computer using CD/DVD, a Windows repair disk, or a booted USB drive.

2. Now, instead of clicking on Install now button, click on the Repair your computer hyperlink at the bottom.

How to Install Windows Server 2022 Backup features?

Before starting to take a backup of your system and files, you have to install it on your system. There are two ways to install this feature: Windows Server Manager and Command Prompt.

If you want to install the backup feature using Server Manager, follow the below steps:

• Open the server manager, click on Manage, and Add Roles and Features in the Dashboard.

• In the Add Roles and Features Wizard, click Next, select the installation type (We go with Role-Based or Feature-Based), and click Next.

• Select the destination server and click next. Pass the server roles by clicking the Next button.
• In the Select Feature window, scroll down, find the Windows Server Backup feature and tick that and click next.

• Finally, confirm the installation, and click the Install button. It takes a few seconds to get installed. Click the Close button.

The second way to install the backup feature is through Command Prompt.

• Open PowerShell in your system by clicking on the Windows PowerShell in the Start Menu.
• Write the Install-WindowsFeature Windows-Server-Backup in the PowerShell window and Enter. It will take a few seconds to install.

How to configure the Windows Server Backup?

Now that you have installed the backup feature, you can configure the backup in the Windows Server.

• Search Windows Server Backup in the Search box or Start Menu of your Windows Server and open it. Alternatively, you can open the Windows Server Backup through Server Manager > Tools and scroll down, find the Windows Server Backup and click on it to open.

• When the new Window opens, click on the Local Backup on the top-left-hand side.

• Three options are under the Local Backup on the top-right-hand side: Backup Schedule, Backup Once, and Recovery. If you want the system to take a regular backup of your system and data, click on Backup Schedule and schedule the Backup time. Else, click on Backup Once.

• In the Backup once Wizard (Backup Option) window, click next. The new Window asks what type of Configuration you want to schedule. Full Server or Custom. If you’re going to select the custom volumes, files and folders, select the custom and click next and in a new window, add items manually. On the other hand, if you want to back up all your server data, applications, and system states, go ahead with the Full Server options.

• On the Specific Destination Type window, specify the storage for your backup. You can select the Local drives if you want to save the backup in the local drives of your Windows Server. Alternatively, if you want to save the backup in the Remote Shared Folder, select this option and click next.

• The new Window asks about the location path, opens the file explorer, finds the desired drive, copies the path from the Address Bar, and pastes it in the text box. There are also two options asking whether the backup inherits the access control implemented on that drive or not. Click next.

• Finally, confirm your backup and click on the Backup button. That is going to take time to complete.

Note: If you go ahead with the Backup Schedule, that is also the same; just specify the backup time.

Step 3. When the upload completes, you can see the Folder is uploaded there.

Sharing File Securely with Others

In order to share a file with others, first, you have to upload to Google Drive, then follow these Procedures?

Step 1. Right-click on the file which you want to share and select share.

Step 2. Now you are in the basic window where you can share the file with others by entering the email address of them. When you enter the Email address you have to verify the permission for him/her. There are three permissions of Edit, Comment, and View.

Note: Once you have entered the email address or email addresses, you can also add some notes about the thing which you are sending to them. In below screenshot, I have inserted two email address and a small note.

Share Files with Others Using Advanced Feature

You have gotten how to share files with others using the Basic Mode, but there is also an Advanced Mode of sharing files with others. Follow the below Procedures to access the Advanced Mode.

Step 1. Select a File or files, then right-click and select share. When you are in the basic sharing mode, under the Edit Files, there is a button called Advanced. When you find that click on it for further steps.

Step 2. When you accessed the Advanced Mode, It is divided into three sections:

1. Who has access?
2. Inviting People.
3. Applying settings.

1. Who has access?

You have the right whether you are going to share it in private, Public or anyone mode. You can edit the mode by selecting Change under the who has access?

Now you are in the Link sharing Page where you can specify the sharing mode. There are three options:

• Public: When you select it, it will be shared publicly on the web where anyone can access it.
• Anyone: When you select it, it will be shared with those who have the link.
• Private: When you select it, it will be shared with specified people.

Note: For Public and Anyone Mode, there is not required any login to download the file, but for the private mode it needs to be logged in.

When you specified the sharing mode, at the same time you have the ability to invite specific people when the file has been shared. It won’t matter whether it is in Public, anyone and private sharing model.

When you inserted the email addresses, there is also a box for notifying people, then check it to notify them. Not only that you can also add a message to them. just select add a message and go on.

3. Applying settings

For settings, there are only two settings available:

• Preventing editors from bringing changes to the file.
• Disabling the download option.

I recommend you to use the preventing editors in the public and anyone mode. When you are done, click save changes and click send to share it on the web. when it shared you can see who has access to it.

Select a free drive or another disk to back up the system image. It’s better to choose another hard disk instead of the same hard disk your system drive is located. When you select the hard disk click Next.

4. Confirm the backup settings. It will back up the System Reserved drive which contains the Windows 10 boot files, and the System driver which contains Windows 10 files. When everything gets ready, click Start backup to begin the backup process.

5. The backup process will take time to completely backup files and create Windows 10 system image. So don’t stop the backup process till finished successfully.

6. When the backup is completed successfully, it prompts you to create a system repair disc in order to boot and recover the computer. It’s not required to create a system repair disc if you already have a Windows 10 DVD or a bootable USB drive.

If you want to create a system repair disc, click Yes and follow the steps to finish the process of system repair disc creation, otherwise select No and Close the backup window.

3. Don’t click Install now, instead click the Repair your computer link to go to startup repair options and Windows Recovery Tools.

4. On the Choose an option page, select Troubleshoot to open the advanced options of the Windows troubleshooting feature.

5. Select Advanced options on the troubleshooting page.

6. Just click the System Image Recovery option on the Advanced options page. This will help you to recover your computer from a system image backup.

7. I don’t understand why it asks me to choose a target operating system when I only have Windows 10 on my computer? Anyway, select Windows 10 to go to the Windows recovery tool.

8. Select the system image backup you want to restore. In this case, I only have one system backup and the system detects it automatically. You can either restore from another image by selecting the Select a system image option. So click Next to go to the next recovery page.

9. Don’t select the Format and re-partition disks option. It will delete everything on your computer hard disk and re-partition your hard disk. Just click Next.

10. On the final stage of Windows recovery click Finish and click Yes on the Re-image Your Computer prompt window to begin recovering your computer.

11. The restoring process will take time to restore all system and user files. Don’t stop and turn of your computer during recovering the system image.
