Mega which is a New-Zealand Based company, was launched on January 19, 2013. With Online backup service and cloud storage services, this company is amazing. For starter, it gives 50 GB Free storage to the users. But if you want even more storage you have to buy one of their services listed below.

  • Pro-Lite: 200 GB Storage will cost you 4.99€ per month.
  • I: 1 TB costs you 9.99€ /Month.
  • II: 4 TB price is 19.99€ per month.
  • Ill: 8 TB will costs you 29.99€ per month.


Dropbox which was in June 2007 is another cloud storage Providers. They offer cloud storage, file synchronization, personal cloud, and client software. For starters, it gives you 2 GB Free storage. But this amount can be increased up to 16 GB by linking your Dropbox to social media and referring friends to join the service. If you want to use Dropbox for Business, the bills are divided into monthly billing and yearly billing. Both of these services have three categories of standard, advanced and enterprise.

OneDrive which was founded on August 1, 2007, is a file hosting server. Where users can save their personal files such as Bit locker recovery key or other windows settings. Most users who are using Microsoft Package, they are using OneDrive as their file server. For starts, it gives 5 GB free Storage but if you want more storage for your business, you have to pay. Another reason can be connected to all of Apple’s Products. Not only that, but it can also be installed on Windows OS too. However, iCloud gives 5 GB free storage for everyone. But more storage will charge you depending on the amount of the storage.

The box was founded in 2005. Box has cloud content management and file sharing service for Different businesses. This isn’t the only partly because they are using a freemium business model to provide cloud storage and file hosting services for personal accounts and businesses.

For starters, Box provides 10 GB free storage but for further storage, you have to pay.

NextCloud seems to be similar to the Dropbox although it is the free and open-source. In another side, NextCloud isn’t an online cloud storage provider by itself. Since it is an open-source anyone have the authority to install and operate it on a private server in their home. If you don’t IT Experience, you can buy a preconfigured NextCloud Box from the site which has 1TB Hard Drive.

  • Price: Free to install and use. Self-hosting so storage costs vary.

SpiderOak was founded in 2007 by Ethan Oberman and Alan Fairless as an encrypted private backup program. Its services are an online backup and file hosting service. Where users are allowed to access, synchronize and share data using a cloud-based server. Unfortunately, free storage is not much enough. After signing up, you will have only 2GB free storage for 60 days. After 60 days, you have to pay. Their pricing services are divided into 3 categories of Spideroak Semaphor, Spideroak One Backup, and Groups and Enterprise.

Semaphore and One Backup has two kinds of teams, ones that stores more than 30 days of messages, and another that does not. If you want to store more, you need to upgrade to either a Standard or Pro Team with plans starting as low as $9 a month. Standard Teams are limited to users with a Personal Plan. IDrive was founded in 1995. The only thing which differs from other companies is their Online Backup Software. Their application is available Windows, Mac, iOS (iPhone, iPad) and also for Android Users. The pricing for IDrive is divided into 3 categories.

  • Basic: with the basic features it has only 5 GB free storage.
  • Personal: Offers 2TB storage for $52 the first year, second-year increase up to $104.55. 5TB costs $74.62 but second costs $149.25.
  • Business: It starts at 250GB up to 12.5TB. Between them 2.5TB costs $599.62 First Year also in the meantime 12.5 TB costs $299.95 monthly.


Pcloud is on the list of online backup services, file storage and synchronization service which was released on September 13, 2013. They offer cloud storage, file sharing, Data backup and user collaboration. Pcloud is registered in Switzerland which has strong privacy laws. For starters or after signing up they only give you 20GB free storage. For business purposes, you can upgrade it by choosing one of their services, Annual and lifetime. Although I don’t believe in a lifetime, 500 GB storage costs you $125 and 2TB costs you $250. For Annual 500 GB costs, $3.95 per month and 2TB costs $ 7.99 per month.


Mozy was founded in 2005 by Berkeley Data Systems. It is another online backup service which is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. In 2007 Mozy was acquired by EMC, and in 2013 Mozy was included in the EMC Backup Recovery Systems division’s solution portfolio. For security, it won’t allow you to share files with others. There is not free storage for the starter. If you want to use their backup services you have to choose one of the options.

  • Unlimited servers, desktops, and laptops
  • Without servers

Carbonite is also an online backup service which is available only for Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS. It was founded in 2006. Till now it has backup more than 100 million files and restored more than 7 billion files. The good about Carbonite is, that they offer mirror-image backup. Unlike Mozy, you have the ability to share files with others. For 1 computer it costs $59.99 yearly but multiple Computers costs $269.99 per year. And computers + servers start from $599.99/ YR and may increase depending on the amount of the computers and servers.
