Have you ever noticed that Gmail has the ability to send only 33 MB file to others? What should we do to send large files to your collages or your business partners? Or what are best ways to share large files online free or to pay? If you need to send big files, there are plenty of good ways to share big files without having any trouble. So, in this article, I have highlighted some the best ways to share big files. Some of them are online sites like Myairbridge, Wetransfer, and Filemail. And finally, at last, I have introduced how Microsoft and Apple share their data inside their company. I hope you will like it.

Best Business Secure File Sharing Practice

There are tons of Best ways to Share Big Files, but the most reliable and perfect ways are included in this post. I have personally tested each one of them one by one, except for Courier a Hard Drive. Becuase I don’t have a company. These sites and methods have these features.

Secure File transfer free & If you want even the best then you have to pay.

Free Secure file sharing & Paid Option is also available.

Send large video files online free till 30 GB.

Send Large files up to 5TB with $59 per month.

Wetransfer

WeTransfer is also a cloud service provider which is based on file transfer service in the cloud. It is one of the simplest services to use for sharing large files. All you need is insert your email and insert the person’s email whom you want to send the files to. Then click the Plus icon and Upload the file for sharing. Once the files are uploaded the website automatically will send it and it will be available for seven days to download. After seven days the website will remove the file.

Basically, it gives you only 2GB free to share files with your colleagues. But if you want to send bigger files, then you really have to buy their service. For $12 a month or $120 per year you can upgrade to WeTransfer Plus, which gives you 20GB of file transfers at a time, and 100GB of storage. You will also have the option to set a password to download files & also you can customize backgrounds and emails if you wish.

Filemail,

Filemail is even a better option for transferring large files. It is a secure file sharing service for business and personal. Comparing to the Wetransfer, at a time you can share up to 50GB files. While sending the file it gives you the below options:

Filed will available for how many Days.

Notify me when files are downloaded.

Protect download page with the password.

HTTPS – Secure Transfer.

Unfortunately, the last two options aren’t available in free version. If you want to use them, then you really have to use the pay services. When it comes to pricing, its pricing is also best then the WebTransfer. First of all, the free version gives 30GB Max size for File Transfer which has the ability of downloads for 7 days. The Pro version $9/month, with unlimited size, 30 days download & other features. The Business version cost $15/month with the listed features below.

Unlimited Max size

Days available: 90 with Unlimited Downloads

Delivery Tracking

BitTorrent downloads

FTP downloads

Password Protection

Address Book

HTTPS – Secure Transfer

Its Application is available for different kinds of platforms such as Windows, iOS, Linux, Mac, Android. Not only that, you can integrate with apps like Outlook, Branding and Emails and API.

Myairbridge is really awesome rather than other sites. It has cool & different features which makes it the perfect site for transferring large files.

If there are other sites, please lets us know in the comment or in the forum.

Using VPN for Secure File Sharing

If the files are really important and you want to send them to your boss. Then you really have to use a VPN service. A virtual private network (VPN) enables users to send and receive data while remaining anonymous and secure online. There are tons of VPN Provider companies available on the web, but which is the best investigate and find out. These days every product has a built-in VPN. Microsoft has 5 different types of Built-in VPNs.

Point to Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP)

L2TP/IPsec with the certificate.

L2TP/IPsec with the Pre-shared key.

Secure socket tunnelling Protocol (SSTP).

IKEV2

In the meantime, these VPNs have a sign-in type of Username & Password, Smartcard, and Certificate. Android Devices such as Samsung has 5 types of VPNs.

PPTP

L2TP/IPsec PSK

L2TP/IPsec RSA

IPsec Xauth PSK & RSA

IPsec Hybrid RSA

iPhone & iPad has also its built-in VPNs. Such as L2TP/IPsec, PPTP, Cisco IPsec. But their sign-in options are very much impressive.

I’m sure, you are curious and saying what does a VPN have to do with sharing large files. Some internet providers are using a broadband traffic management for moderation of upload bandwidth. A good example can be Virgin Media in the United Kingdom. So, now you get the idea.

Use a file compression

We, humans, are always after the easiest ways to do a job. The easiest solution for sending large files is compression software like 7-zip and WinRAR. If you have multiple files they can be compressed into one folder. Also they handy big files can be separated into different parts which mostly Iranian companies are using. This compressing software is available for all platforms of Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android. Extracting a 50 MB Drupal software, takes 3 minutes, sending that 51 MB file without zipping, takes 10 minutes. So, it’s clear that a large file will transfer faster than a folder containing smaller files of the same size. 7-zip and WinRAR let you set a password for Protection, so you can share them safely.

Courier a Hard Drive for Secure File Sharing

Do you know that the fastest way to transfer large files is not via Internet? Infect the fastest way to transfer a large number of big files is using a Hard Drive and a courier. All the Cloud Providers companies (Google, Microsoft, and Amazon) aren’t using the cloud for transferring big files. Instead, they are using Hard Drivers locally inside in the company. Microsoft charges a nominal flat fee (less than £60) per storage device handled, roughly similar to Amazon Web Services’ Import/Export disk while Google uses third parties. Transferring 30TB data’s of an external Hard disk on the speed of 140 dedicated line will take more than 30 days.

Using Cloud Storage Services

Cloud storage services have really made file sharing it easy for the people. Before CD/DVD Room there was a floppy disk, then came USB. Now barely people are using USB sticks for a variety of purposes. No one had ever thought one-day cloud services would really have this much usage on the web. As I said in the courier a Hard Disk Section, that the fastest way is a Hard Drive. But After that comes in the second cloud services. Certainly, the free version of any cloud services won’t be enough. If your files are 20 TB then you really have to buy Enterprises version. Here is the list of some cloud services which might be helpful to you.

Certainly, most of the people are using the best free cloud storage. Such as mega (50 GB storage for free), GoogleDrive (15 GB free Storage), Box (10 GB free storage). This much storage for an ordinary person is enough, but businesses they need even larger storage. There are 100+ Cloud Storage services available on the web, but which are the best. That’s why I have decided to collect Best Cloud Storage and Online Backup Services.

Cloud security is an essential task because it protects you from losing precious information to leaks, hacks, and system failures. There are several different methods you can use to help protect your cloud information. To help assist you in this process, we have compiled the best practices for protecting your data.

Each of these data security methods has been carefully tested and has been proven to create an excellent security system.

So if your business is struggling or you are worried about falling victim to hacks, make sure to implement these concepts. Just a few of them include increased visibility, threat prevention, greater security on your data, and understanding just how cloud breaches begin. By grasping all of this information, you provide a buffer for your business data that will keep it safe.

Understanding How Cloud Data is Compromised

There are several different ways that your data can be severely compromised and end up open to hacking. This problem is one that can be hard to gauge because it is so complex in most cases.

However, there are a few different ways that this happens. This compromise of data typically occurs in the following circumstances:

A data breach

Weak identity management

Poor authentication of users

Unexpected server outage

Poor maintenance of cloud server security

While it is important to remember that hackers often make up the most dangerous threat to your data, they are far from the only concern. In fact, most data loss in the cloud is due to a server crashing and deleting vital and precious data. Understanding these points is crucial to ensuring you prevent their occurrence.

Cloud Security Threats – Technig

Data Breaches, security mitigation

Data breaches occur when a hacker breaks into your cloud systems and steals your information. During this instance, they will go past your security system and steal or delete vital data.

This frightening situation can devastate a cloud system and will throw most companies for a loop.

“Security measures are crucial for preventing data breaches, such as installing anti-hacking or anti-malware program and monitoring on your own systems as well as on cloud servers.” (source phoenixnap.com website)

Weak Identity Management

If you have installed weak credentials or cryptographic processes on your cloud system, there is a good chance that a hacker may be able to break into it quite easily. Simply having strong passwords is not enough.

Instead, you need to have a system that identifies a person’s identity completely, including gauging where their computer is located and the purpose of their login to the cloud system. Inadequate authentication falls under this same heading.

Server Loss

When your server collapses on you during a vital time, your cloud information may be jeopardized. There are a few reasons that servers fall. Hackers may infect them with viruses that interrupt their proper operation.

A sudden loss of electricity could cause an unfortunate shutdown. It is also possible that these servers will collapse for no good reason. When this happens, you could very quickly lose vital information. The best protection for this is to backup all of your information on a separate server or a hard drive.

Prevention Planning is Critical

It can be tough for the average business person to handle these problems on their own. It can seem overwhelming to combat hackers and also to install security measures that protect their cloud data. However, that isn’t the case if they hire a professional. Professionals will take careful steps to prevent these problems and ensure they don’t become a major hassle.

That’s why we’ve compiled the following beneficial information for your company. It can be used as a guide to the dangers of losing your cloud data. Implementing each of these methods will not only create a superior security system but keep you from losing data due to a server crash. We recommended using each of them in your facility to prevent partial or even total data loss.

Visibility is Crucial

Your cloud security practices need to be visible and easy for your employees to understand. For example, you need to create a company-wide security system and method that everyone is compliant in using. Creating this kind of unified security front helps ensure that everyone is on the same page with their cloud security challenges.

Talk to your IT about this system to ensure it is running smoothly.

Then, you need to make sure it also follows a strict group of points to protect your cloud data. Each of these points is worth a sub-section. Make sure that your IT department understands each of these points and is ready to implement them.

Using Data Encryption Properly

Your security system should encrypt all of its data in a manner that keeps it safe from hacking. For example, it should always encrypt data that is resting or not currently being used. Some security systems will fail to follow this process because it seems like an expensive luxury. That is simply not the case. Resting data is often at a higher risk of hacking than more active data.

As a result, it is important to take steps to get your cloud data successfully encrypted. There are many ways that you can do this step. Your IT crew should be able to encrypt your data or set up a security system that does it for you. They also need to set up a program that can read this encrypted data and present it to your employees with a minimal delay. That is the toughest part of the whole process, but it can be done successfully.

Accidental or Intentional Human Data Deletion

Your company has likely had some people either leave the company or get fired. Did you take the time to delete their user data from your cloud system? Most people probably didn’t even realize that was a good idea. It’s not just a good idea but an essential one. It can keep people from getting into your data and attacking you.

For example, if you fired a person and forgot to delete their login information, they could potentially get into your system remotely and delete or steal your data.

That problem is easy to avoid by just deleting all their user data and login information. You should also change all other login information for the rest of the company, particularly that associated with your cloud server.

Installing Cloud Security Threats Prevention Methods

The best way to prevent data loss is to eliminate the potential of severe hacks. This process is easier said than done. For example, you will have to find a system that assesses every online download and upload on the cloud. You will also need a security system that can monitor, in real-time, all the changes that are occurring from all of your users.

There are several steps to take here to simplify this process.

First of all, all login locations should be automatically monitored. This action helps you spot if one user suddenly logs in from somewhere else far from their last position.

Secondly, you need to ignore everyday tasks that your system will undergo every day. Only potentially threatening tasks or activities should be flagged as dangerous.

Risk Management to Improving Data Security

We already briefly touched on data encryption above, but there are other ways you can improve your data’s security. For example, tokenization is a method that creates a numeric value for each piece of data and maps this token in a safe vault in your cloud. When this token changes, the data can be considered compromised and safely ignored or treated by your system.

The other nice thing about this process is that the tokens associated with data can be removed in the case of a breach. This act immediately makes it harder for the hacker to access the data using their old token values. The downside to this approach is that it requires a very structured approach to storing your data. With that approach, it can be rather sporadic and difficult to implement.

In Closing: Cloud computing threats and vulnerabilities

A good cloud security threats prevention system should take into account all of these concepts and blend them in a streamlined way. Focusing on just one of them is a mistake because a genuinely unified approach requires taking into account multiple aspects of your security.

For example, merely installing a firewall and anti-virus program is not enough. These programs must also be updated and your employees educated on how to use them properly. And we did not even have time to go into the importance of backing up all of your information.

All in all, the best practices for this cloud security threats process are straightforward to understand and should be easy to implement rather inexpensively. Most business owners should be able to do them on their own with little difficulty.

However, there is a chance you could run into some trouble and need a little help for cloud security threats. Don’t hesitate to contact a professional near you for guidance. They can ensure you meet all of these methods and follow them as precisely as possible to reduce the cloud security threats.

Advantages of Cloud Computing and Cloud Security – Technig

Reduced IT Costs

Moving to cloud computing may reduce the cost of managing and maintaining your IT systems. Rather than purchasing expensive systems and equipment for your business, you can reduce your costs by using the resources of your cloud computing service provider. You may be able to reduce your operating costs because:

The cost of system upgrades, new hardware and software may be included in your contract

You no longer need to pay wages for expert staff

Your energy consumption costs may be reduced

There are fewer time delays.

Flexibility of work practices

Cloud computing allows employees to be more flexible in their work practices. For example, you have the ability to access data from home, on holiday. Or via the commute to and from work. If you need access to your data while you are off-site, you can connect to your virtual office, quickly and easily.

Access to automatic updates

Access to automatic updates for your IT requirements may be included in your service fee. Depending on your cloud computing service provider, your system will regularly be updated with the latest technology. This could include up-to-date versions of software, as well as upgrades to servers and computer processing power.

Scalability

Your business can scale up or scale down your operation and storage needs quickly to suit your situation, allowing flexibility as your needs change. Rather than purchasing and installing expensive upgrades yourself, your cloud computing service provider can handle this for you. Using the cloud frees up your time so you can get on with running your business.

Business Continuity

Protecting your data and systems is an important part of business continuity planning. Whether you experience a natural disaster, power failure or other crisis, having your data stored in the cloud ensures it is backed up and protected in a secure and safe location. Being able to access your data again quickly allows you to conduct business as usual, minimising any downtime and loss of productivity.

Collaboration efficiency

Collaboration in a cloud environment gives your business the ability to communicate and share more easily outside of the traditional methods. If you are working on a project across different locations, you could use cloud computing to give employees, contractors and third parties access to the same files. You could also choose a cloud computing model that makes it easy for you to share your records with your advisers (e.g. a quick and secure way to share accounting records with your accountant or financial adviser).

Cloud Security

Although the business convenience, economy, and enhanced workforce productivity have emerged as just some of the measurable benefits of cloud computing, cloud computing vendors provide high-level security for cloud computing data centers.

According to the recommendation of higher international organization for Standardization (ISO) standards for cloud computing security. The cloud computing is a multi-billion-dollar industry, and the business is based in part on cloud vendors’ ability to keep customers’ data secure. The standards they adhere to are designed for that.

One of the benefits of cloud computing is that “security is actually increased when using cloud solutions due to strict ISO security standards that cloud providers must adhere to, in addition to the regular security audits.” Another clear guide I recommend you to read more about ISO 27001 vs. ISO 27017 – Information security controls for cloud services by Dejan Kosutic.

Measures of Cloud Computing Security

The below 10 cloud computing security benefits that cloud computing providers offers for cloud security to hold you back from implementation.

10 Important Cloud Computing Security:

Fresh and anywhere secure accessible software.

High-level data encryption for sensitive information on cloud services.

Physical security monitoring of data center facilities.

Standardized and continuously monitored information security policy management.

Skilled, certified personnel to monitor, manage and maintain network infrastructure.

DMZ, using firewalls, intrusion detection, and prevention systems.

Background checks, security training.

Specialized threat identification and management.

Reduce human errors by using cloud computing technologies.

Anyway, in the ever-increasing era of data breaches, the cloud security solution has security protocols in place to protect sensitive information and transactions. This prevents a third party from eavesdropping or tampering with data being transmitted. So these are the plan for cloud security, despite your initial concerns about the potential security risks of cloud computing. You can consult with a cloud computing security expert.

This video totally shows the process to connect CentOS VPS via Remote Desktop using GUI.

Connect CentOS VPS via Remote Desktop

Before configuring remote desktop on any Linux VPS server, you must know that the VPS server comes with Linux core or server. These Linux doesn’t have a GUI or desktop environment.

You must install one of the Linux

Unity is Ubuntu’s default desktop environment. If you’ve installed Ubuntu using the standard installer, you’re probably using the Unity desktop right now.

GNOME was once the most popular Linux desktop environment. The GNOME 2.x series used by default on Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, and most other big Linux distributions. It was a simple, relatively lightweight desktop environment.

The other KDE Desktop, Xfce, Cinnamon, MATE, LXDE, and Xmonad are also best for the Linux desktop environment.

In the video tutorial, I have installed GNOME as a desktop environment on CentOS 7 VPS. So let’s see the entire process of how to connect CentOS VPS via Remote Desktop.

Linux Desktop Environment

A desktop environment typically consists of icons, windows, toolbars, folders, wallpapers and desktop widgets. A GUI might also provide drag and drop functionality and other features that make the desktop metaphor more complete. A desktop environment aims to be an intuitive way for the user to interact with the computer using concepts which are similar to those used when interacting with the physical world, such as buttons and windows.
