When you encounter no healthy upstream error, it means that the vCenter is not up and ready yet. Just wait a few minutes before connecting to vCenter via a web browser.

But every no healthy upstream error is because of an unprepared vCenter. There might be some issue that does not allow the services of vCenter to be running properly.

Fix vCenter 7 no healthy upstream error?

Fix no healthy upstream vCenter 7 Issue

There is another guide to help you fix no healthy upstream error of vCenter 7. It might be occurred after upgrading vCenter 6.7 to vCenter 7.

Shutdown the vCenter

Upgrade the VM hardware version

Edit settings > VM Options > General Options > Select VMware Photon OS

Note: make sure you have allocated enough memory and CPU for the vCenter 7 virtual machine. The vCenter 7 is CPU and memory hungry.

Read the related community post on vMware forum.

Hardware Requirements for the vCenter Server Appliance

When you deploy the vCenter Server appliance, you can select to deploy an appliance that is suitable for the size of your vSphere environment. The option that you select determines the number of CPUs and the amount of memory for the appliance. The hardware requirements for a vCenter Server appliance depend on the size of your vSphere inventory.

The upgrade of the appliance is a migration of the old version to the new version, which includes deploying a new appliance of version 7.0. You can deploy the new vCenter Server appliance on an ESXi host 6.5 or later, or on a vCenter Server instance 6.5 or later. Your system must also meet specific software and hardware requirements.

Note: If you want to add an ESXi host with more than 512 LUNs and 2,048 paths to the vCenter Server inventory, you must deploy a vCenter Server appliance for a large or x-large environment.

Let us know if you still have issues with vCenter no healthy upstream.

Virtualization technology helps you run the different operating systems on your computer and Mac or Linux. The VMware fusion is a virtualization software for Apple Mac OS. With VMware Fusion running Windows on Mac is only the beginning. VMware Fusion lets you choose from hundreds of supported operating systems, from lesser-known Linux distributions to the latest Windows 10 release. For free download VMware Fusion for Mac OS, just follow the download link section.

VMware Fusion Overview

The above video is a pretty short product overview of VMware Fusion. You can find out the features of most powerful virtualization software for Mac OS.

Develop and Test for Any Platform: The VMware Fusion makes it simple to test nearly any OS and app on a Mac. Build and test apps in a sandbox while securely sharing local source files and folders. Fusion Pro now includes a RESTful API to integrate with modern development tools like Docker, Vagrant, Ansible, Chef, and others to fit the power of VMware into today’s Agile and DevOps-oriented production pipelines.

Connect to VMware vSphere: Securely connect with vSphere, ESXi and Workstation servers to launch, control and manage both virtual machines (VMs) and physical hosts. Thanks to the common VMware platform, VMs can be easily transferred from the vSphere data centre to the Mac desktop and then run in Fusion.

Design and Demo Complex Solutions: With the ability to run an entire virtual cloud stack on a single Mac, solution architects can demonstrate their entire software solution in real time, with safe rollback points to return to known configurations. Fully express the story of your software journey by running all of its components on a single notebook to show the world.

For installing Hyper-V or enabling Hyper-V on Windows 10, read the below article. After essential configuration of Hyper-v on Windows 10, try to create a virtual machine using this step by step guide.

Enable and Configure Hyper-V on Windows 10.

In computing, a virtual machine (VM) is an emulation of a computer system. The virtual machines are based on computer architectures and provide the functionality of a physical computer. Their implementations may involve specialized hardware, software, or a combination.

There are different kinds of virtual machines:

System virtual machines (also termed full virtualization VMs) provide a substitute for a real computer. They provide the functionality needed to execute entire operating systems. A hypervisor uses native execution to share and manage hardware, allowing for multiple environments which are isolated from one another, yet exist on the same physical machine. Modern hypervisors use hardware-assisted virtualization, virtualization-specific hardware, primarily from the host CPUs.

Process virtual machines are designed to execute computer programs in a platform-independent environment.

Some virtual machines, such as QEMU, are also designed to emulate different architectures and allow execution of software applications and operating systems written for another CPU or architecture. Operating-system-level virtualization allows the resources of a computer to be partitioned via the kernel’s support for multiple isolated user-space instances, which are usually called containers and may look and feel like real machines to the end-users.

Create Virtual Machine in Hyper-V on Windows 10

Creating a virtual machine on Hyper-V is easy, and this tutorial is just a short lab manual guide. You learn how to create a virtual machine in Hyper-V on Windows 10.

Before using Hyper-V on Windows 10 for server virtualization, you need to check your system requirement. It’s terrible that you can not install Hyper-V role on Windows 10 Home edition.

Hyper-V System Requirements on Windows 10:

Windows 10 Enterprise, Professional, or Education

64-bit Processor with Second Level Address Translation (SLAT).

CPU support for VM Monitor Mode Extension (VT-c on Intel CPU’s).

Minimum of 4 GB memory.

You can not install the Hyper-V role on Windows 10 Home. You must upgrade from Windows 10 Home edition to Windows 10 Professional for creating a Hyper-v virtualized environment.

But for creating a virtualized network environment for practising server virtualization, install VirtualBox or VMware on Windows 10 Home edition. Read the article about creating virtual machine on VMware on Windows 10.

The Hyper-v role enables you to create and manage a virtualized computing environment by using virtualization technology (VT) that is built into Windows Server 2008 to 2022 and Windows 8 to Windows 11. In this article, we are Installing Hyper-v in Windows client and Server. But the installation is the same on all Windows clients and servers that support Hyper-v as virtualization software.

The Management Tools for the Hyper-V Role consists of:

GUI-based management tools: Hyper-V Manager, a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in, and Virtual Machine Connection, which provides access to the video output of a virtual machine so you can interact with the virtual machine.

Hyper-V-specific cmdlets for Windows PowerShell. Windows Server 2012 includes a Hyper-V module, which provides command-line access to all the functionality available in the GUI, as well as functionality not available through the GUI. For more information about the Hyper-V module, see the Hyper-V Module for Windows PowerShell.

Hardware requirements:

Hyper-V requires a 64-bit processor that includes the following

Hardware-assisted virtualization. This is available in processors that include a virtualization option—specifical processors with Intel Virtualization Technology (Intel VT) or AMD Virtualization (AMD-V) technology.

Hardware-enforced Data Execution Prevention (DEP) must be available and enabled. Specifically, you must enable Intel XD bit (execute disable bit) or AMD NX bit (no execute bit).

Practical Guide to Virtualization: Installing Hyper-v

The installation of Hyper-v is easy, you can do the installation with PowerShell command line and graphical wizard also. But before installing Hyper-v on Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, you must enable VT technology from your system BIOS.

On Windows 8.1 or 10 press “Windows+R” to open the ‘Run” and type “Optionalfeatures” then press enter. This will open the Windows Features wizard.

Hyper-v Beginner

2. Now, on the opened Windows features page select “Hyper-v” and two sub-features “Hyper-v Management Tools, Hyper-v Platform and click OK. When the installation has finished successfully, reboot the system.
