<p>As security concern increases, you may set a more complex password for your home, office, or public Wi-Fi. After some time, if you needed your password or your friend asked about it, you may not remember it. That&#8217;s where you can check the saved password of your network in your computer running the Windows Operating System. We will cover the two ways to see <a href="https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/find-your-wi-fi-network-password-in-windows-2ec74b2e-d9ec-ade1-cc9b-bef1429cb678" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">Wi-Fi password</a> on Windows 11.</p>

<p>If you are using Windows 10, you can check this article; <a href="https://www.technig.com/find-windows-10-wifi-password/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">How to Find Wi-Fi Password on Windows 10?</a></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">1. See Wi-Fi Password Using Command Prompt</h2>

<p>If you are an IT Professional, using Command Prompt or PowerShell is an arbitrary way to see your wireless network password on Windows 11. To prevent possible mistakes that may occur because of the wrong spelling, you can copy the below command and paste it into the command prompt, and edit the network name.</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>Search <strong>Command Prompt</strong> in the Search box or find it in the Start Menu and open it. Write <strong>netsh WLAN show profile name=&#8221;Name_of_the_Network&#8221; key=clear | find &#8220;Key Content&#8221; </strong>in the command prompt window and enter.</li></ul>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wi-Fi-Cmd-1024x580.png" alt="How to See Wi-Fi Password on Windows 11" class="wp-image-17555" width="768" height="435" srcset="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wi-Fi-Cmd-1024x580.png 1024w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wi-Fi-Cmd-300x170.png 300w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wi-Fi-Cmd-768x435.png 768w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wi-Fi-Cmd.png 1334w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /><figcaption>Enter the Command in the Command Prompt</figcaption></figure></div>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>To see more details about your network, write <strong><code>netsh WLAN show profile name="Name_of_Network" key=clear</code> </strong>and press enter.</li></ul>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wi-Fi-all-details-1024x505.png" alt="Details/How to See Wi-Fi Password on Windows 11" class="wp-image-17556" width="768" height="379" srcset="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wi-Fi-all-details-1024x505.png 1024w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wi-Fi-all-details-300x148.png 300w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wi-Fi-all-details-768x378.png 768w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wi-Fi-all-details-1536x757.png 1536w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wi-Fi-all-details.png 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /><figcaption>The Command Shows All Details</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">2. <strong>Show Wi-Fi Password with Control Panel</strong></h2>

<p>The second traditional way to see your Wi-Fi Password on Windows 11 is through Control Panel. To do that:</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>Open the <strong>Control Panel</strong> on your computer and click on <strong>Network and Internet</strong>.</li></ul>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Network-and-Internet-1024x773.png" alt="Network and Internet/ How to See Wi-Fi Password on Windows 11" class="wp-image-17558" width="768" height="580" srcset="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Network-and-Internet-1024x773.png 1024w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Network-and-Internet-300x226.png 300w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Network-and-Internet-768x579.png 768w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Network-and-Internet-86x64.png 86w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Network-and-Internet.png 1173w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /><figcaption>Network and Internet in Control Panel</figcaption></figure></div>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>Click on <strong>Network and Sharing Center. </strong></li><li>In a new window, click on the active network (Connection Wi-Fi)</li></ul>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wifi-Connection-1024x771.png" alt="Current Network Connection/ How to See Wi-Fi Password on Windows 11" class="wp-image-17559" width="768" height="578" srcset="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wifi-Connection-1024x771.png 1024w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wifi-Connection-300x226.png 300w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wifi-Connection-768x578.png 768w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wifi-Connection-86x64.png 86w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wifi-Connection.png 1177w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /><figcaption>Current Network Connection</figcaption></figure></div>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>A new tiny window (Wi-Fi Status) pops up; you click on the <strong>Wireless Properties.</strong></li></ul>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wireless-Properties.png" alt="Wireless Properties" class="wp-image-17560" width="398" height="483" srcset="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wireless-Properties.png 531w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wireless-Properties-247x300.png 247w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Wireless-Properties-180x217.png 180w" sizes="(max-width: 398px) 100vw, 398px" /><figcaption>Click on Wireless Properties</figcaption></figure></div>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>Again a tiny window (Wireless Properties) shows up, click on the <strong>Security</strong> tab on the top of that window and check the <strong>Show characters</strong> option.</li></ul>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Security-Tab-1.png" alt="Security Tab" class="wp-image-17561" width="415" height="538" srcset="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Security-Tab-1.png 553w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Security-Tab-1-231x300.png 231w" sizes="(max-width: 415px) 100vw, 415px" /><figcaption>Security Tab</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>With the above two-method, you can easily find the password of your computer network that you have forgotten. Now, it is not necessary to reset your network router. Write down your questions and recommendations in the comment section of this page.</p>

In this post, we will show you an easy way to forget Windows 10 WiFi network profile with command. Try to use the command line for managing Windows 10 to get expert on Windows PowerShell and command-line interface on Windows environment.</p>
<h2>Delete WiFi Network Profile</h2>
<p>When you join WiFi networks with your Laptop, the WiFi profile has saved on your computer. In a case for joining the WiFi network with the same name or changed WiFi password, you need to delete the current WiFi profile. Let&#8217;s do it first with the command line and finally with GUI.</p>
<p><strong>To forget a WiFi Network on Windows 10 using GUI:</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Click the WiFi icon on the taskbar on the right side of the desktop screen.</li>
<li>Click Network Settings.</li>
<li>Then click Manage known networks.</li>
<li>On the Manage known networks, select a WiFi network profile and click Forget.</li>
</ol>
<p>The screenshot shows the process you rich the Wireless network settings and forget Windows 10 saved WiFi network profile.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_13408" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-13408" style="width: 1366px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Forget-Windows-10-Saved-WiFi-Network-Profile-Technig.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-13408 size-full" src="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Forget-Windows-10-Saved-WiFi-Network-Profile-Technig.jpg" alt="Forget Windows 10 WiFi Network Profile - Technig" width="1366" height="768" srcset="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Forget-Windows-10-Saved-WiFi-Network-Profile-Technig.jpg 1366w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Forget-Windows-10-Saved-WiFi-Network-Profile-Technig-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Forget-Windows-10-Saved-WiFi-Network-Profile-Technig-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Forget-Windows-10-Saved-WiFi-Network-Profile-Technig-1024x576.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1366px) 100vw, 1366px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-13408" class="wp-caption-text">Forget Windows 10 WiFi Network Profile &#8211; Technig</figcaption></figure></p>
<p><strong>Note:</strong> You can find the Wireless network settings on Windows 10 by typing &#8220;WiFi&#8221; on Windows 10 search box. The Change Wi-Fi settings are the exact Wifi settings we need.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t know why Microsoft removed the ability to delete Wi-Fi networks from the network list if the network isn&#8217;t in range. Manage Wireless Networks is also gone from the control panel. If you want to better manage Wi-Fi networks in Windows 10, you&#8217;ll need to head to the <span class="nlg-dropcap">command line.</span></p>
<p><figure id="attachment_13414" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-13414" style="width: 693px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Delete-a-WiFi-Profile-on-Windows-10-Technig.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-13414 size-full" src="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Delete-a-WiFi-Profile-on-Windows-10-Technig.jpg" alt="Delete a WiFi Profile on Windows 10 - Technig" width="693" height="298" srcset="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Delete-a-WiFi-Profile-on-Windows-10-Technig.jpg 693w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Delete-a-WiFi-Profile-on-Windows-10-Technig-300x129.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 693px) 100vw, 693px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-13414" class="wp-caption-text">Delete a WiFi Profile on Windows 10 &#8211; Technig</figcaption></figure></p>
<p class="ad-unit js_ad-unit google-adx">As the screenshot above shows, Windows 10 does have a &#8220;<strong>Forget this network</strong>&#8221; option, but it <em>doesn&#8217;t appear in the network is not in range</em>. To delete old profiles, you&#8217;ll need to use the <em>netsh </em>command-line utility.</p>
<p>To delete a Wifi network profile in Windows 10 press <strong>Windows+R</strong> keyboard button then types PowerShell to open Windows 10 PowerShell. You can use CMD as well.</p>
