<p>Microsoft recommended these 3 ways to upgrade to Windows 11 from any Windows 10 PCs. To upgrade to Windows 11 your previous Windows 10 must have at least the minimum hardware requirements of Windows 11. Try to install <a href="https://aka.ms/GetPCHealthCheckApp" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">PC health check</a> to to check and make sure you computer is good to go for upgrade. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">1. Upgrade to Windows 11 using Windows update</h2>

<p>The easiest option is upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 using Windows update. We recommend that you wait until you are notified through Windows Update that the upgrade is ready for your PC. But it might takes time to receive the upgrade update from Microsoft.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="533" src="https://technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Free-Upgrade-to-Windows-11-is-ready-1024x533.png" alt="Free Upgrade to Windows 11 is ready" class="wp-image-16710" srcset="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Free-Upgrade-to-Windows-11-is-ready-1024x533.png 1024w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Free-Upgrade-to-Windows-11-is-ready-300x156.png 300w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Free-Upgrade-to-Windows-11-is-ready-768x399.png 768w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Free-Upgrade-to-Windows-11-is-ready.png 1194w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Free Upgrade to Windows 11 is ready</figcaption></figure>

<p>To check Microsoft recommended upgrade to Windows 11.</p>

<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Press&nbsp;<strong>Windows key</strong>&nbsp;on your computer and search for <strong>Windows update settings</strong>. </li><li>Type “<strong>Windows update”</strong>&nbsp;and open up Windows Update Settings.</li><li>Click the “<strong>Check for updates</strong>” button to see if any updates are available. If your PC is ready for Windows 11, you’ll see the “<strong>Upgrade to Windows 11 is ready—and it’s free!</strong>” banner.</li><li>If the upgrade to Windows 11 is ready, then click the <strong>Download and install</strong> button and follow up the <a href="https://www.technig.com/free-upgrade-windows-11-from-any-windows-10-pcs/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">How to free Upgrade to Windows 11 Securely?</a> article to complete it. </li></ol>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">2. Upgrade to Windows 11 using Windows 11 Installation Assistant</h2>

<p>This is the best option for installing Windows 11 on the computer you’re currently using. Click&nbsp;<a href="https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2171764" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Download Windows 11 Installation Assistant </a>to get started.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="962" height="672" src="https://technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Your-PC-needs-to-restart-to-install-Windows-11.png" alt="Your PC needs to restart to install Windows 11" class="wp-image-16718" srcset="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Your-PC-needs-to-restart-to-install-Windows-11.png 962w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Your-PC-needs-to-restart-to-install-Windows-11-300x210.png 300w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Your-PC-needs-to-restart-to-install-Windows-11-768x536.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 962px) 100vw, 962px" /><figcaption>Your PC needs to restart to install Windows 11</figcaption></figure>

<p>I already published a clean step by step guide to upgrade to Windows 11 using Windows 11 Installation Assistant on <a style="font-size: revert;" href="https://www.technig.com/free-upgrade-windows-11-from-any-windows-10-pcs/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">How to free Upgrade to Windows 11 Securely?</a> article.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">3. Upgrade Windows 11 using Clean Installation</h2>

<p>The third option is for users that want to create a bootable installation media (USB flash drive, DVD) or create a virtual machine (.ISO file) to install Windows 11. This download is a multi-edition ISO which uses your product key to unlock the correct edition.</p>

<p>You can download Windows 10 all editions from <a href="https://technig.com/download-windows-11-iso-file/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Download Windows 11</a> all editions. </p>

<p>For clean installation, you have to: </p>

<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Check your computer complicity with Windows 11 requirements.</li><li>Backup your personal files to an external hard drive. </li><li>Download Windows 11 based on your previous Windows 10 License. </li><li>Create a bootable media. Check this article for <a href="https://www.technig.com/create-bootable-usb-using-diskpart/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">creating a bootable Windows 11 USB</a>. </li><li>Boot your device with Windows 11 bootable USB or DVD. </li><li>Follow the process of Windows installation. </li><li>After completing the Windows 11 installation, restore your backup. </li><li>Done! Enjoy Windows 11. </li></ol>

<p>There are more options for installing Windows 11, such as operating system deployment for enterprise network via <a href="https://technig.com/configure-wds-on-windows-server-2016-windows-deployment/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Windows deployments</a>. </p>

<p>That was all the 3 ways to upgrade to Windows 11 from any Windows 1o PCs. Hope you have update to Windows 11 without any issue. Please let us know if you face with any Windows upgrade issue. </p>

But upgrade to Windows 10 using MDT is the easiest way to upgrade the old machines. As <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_administrator" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">network admin</a> you already know the importance of OS and application deployment rules in a enterprise network. And also must be familiar with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, Windows Deployment Services and deployment operations.</p>
<p>In this practice lab I will show you how to upgrade to Windows 10 using MDT and refresh old machines with new operating system. You need to be familiar with MDT installation and creating deployment share with MDT. If you are beginner and don&#8217;t know the basic of deploying Windows with MDT and WDS, I recommend you to read the below article before continuing this post.</p>
<ol>
<li><a href="https://www.technig.com/install-adk-mdt-in-windows-server-2016/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">How to install MDT and ADK in Windows Server 2016?</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.technig.com/deploy-windows-10-using-mdt/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">How to Deploy Windows 10 using MDT?</a></li>
</ol>
<p>Try to create your own test lab and continue this article. In the final stage I had faced with an error, hope it will not issue that for you.</p>
<h3>Step 1: Import Windows 10 full source to MDT</h3>
<p>Adding Windows 10 full sources to MDT will be done through MDT Deployment Workbench. I already have my deployment lab which installed and configured MDT as deployment Server in a Windows Server 2016. So go to open deployment workbench and import Windows 10 and create an upgrade task sequence.</p>
<ol>
<li>Open <strong>Deployment Workbench</strong> from start menu in your MDT machine. Create a folder for Windows 10 on Operating system section.</li>
</ol>
<p><figure id="attachment_3890" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-3890" style="width: 842px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="http://3.90.216.52/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Upgrade-to-Windows-10-Using-MDT.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-3890" src="http://3.90.216.52/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Upgrade-to-Windows-10-Using-MDT.jpg" alt="Upgrade to Windows 10 Using MDT" width="842" height="392" srcset="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Upgrade-to-Windows-10-Using-MDT.jpg 842w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Upgrade-to-Windows-10-Using-MDT-300x140.jpg 300w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Upgrade-to-Windows-10-Using-MDT-768x358.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 842px) 100vw, 842px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-3890" class="wp-caption-text">Upgrade to Windows 10 Using MDT</figcaption></figure></p>
<p><strong>2.</strong> Simply right click <strong>Windows 10</strong> folder and select <strong>Import Operating System </strong>to open the <strong>OS Type</strong> page.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_3827" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-3827" style="width: 738px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="http://3.90.216.52/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Operating-System-Type-for-MDT.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-3827" src="http://3.90.216.52/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Operating-System-Type-for-MDT.jpg" alt="Operating System Type for MDT" width="738" height="350" srcset="https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Operating-System-Type-for-MDT.jpg 738w, https://www.technig.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Operating-System-Type-for-MDT-300x142.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 738px) 100vw, 738px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-3827" class="wp-caption-text">Operating System Type for MDT</figcaption></figure></p>
