How to Install Android Oreo on VMware?

Installing an operating system on a virtualized environment is like installing an operating system on a real computer. Just download the Vmware or VirtualBox virtualization software and install it on your computer.

1. Download VMware or VirtualBox.
2. Install it on your computer.
3. Create a Virtual Machine for Android Oreo.
4. Boot the Android Oreo.
5. Continue the step by step to install Android Oreo on VMware or VirtualBox.
6. Finally, restart the Android virtual machine see Android on your computer.

Note: Currently there is no Android Oreo image is available for VMware. But Google will release the Android Oreo Image for VMware and VirtualBox in the coming months.

Install VMware Tools Correctly on Ubuntu Linux

The steps to install VMware Tools vary depending on the VMware product and the guest operating system you have installed. In this post, we are going to install VMware tools correctly on Linux Ubuntu using VMware workstation. The host system is a Windows 10.

1. Right-click the Ubuntu virtual machine on VMware workstation then click Install VMware Tools to mount the VMware tools to DVD Rom.

2. Open the DVD on the Ubuntu sidebar and copy the VMware-tools-distrib from inside the VMwareTools***tar.gz compressed file to the desktop.

3. Now, run the terminal command line and navigate to VMware folder on the desktop. Type “cd Desktop” to go to the desktop directory, then type “ls” to see what you have on your desktop. Navigate to VMware tools folder with “cd” (change directory) command.

4. Finally, type the “sudo ./vmware-install.pl -d” command to start VMware tools installation. When the installation has been finished, once restart your system to apply the changes.

5. Check the final reports whether the installation finished successfully or not. If you experience issues when installing VMware Tools, comment us for troubleshooting help.

Additional Information:

The VMware Tools are normally bundled with VMware products as well as security updates when applicable. As of VMware Tools version, customers also have the option to download from My VMware. Two different downloadable archives are presented, one for recent guest Operating System releases and another that covers older, legacy guest operating system versions.  Install Kali Linux VMWare Tools

Open the Kali Linux virtual machine on your lab and mount the Kali Linux VMWare Tools.

1. First of all, once run the “apt-get update” command to update Kali Linux.

2. Click VM tab of the virtual machine and then click Install VMWare Tools to mount VMWare drivers.

3. Open the mounted VMWare Tools and copy the “VMWare tools 10.0.0 tar gz” file to the desktop.

4. Try to right-click the file and extract it. Once the file extracted successfully, open the folder to see the contents.

5. This is the VMWare tools contents. We need the “vmware-install.pl” file to install the tools with the terminal.

6. Now the VMware tools file is ready for installation. Just open the terminal and run the below command.

./Desktop/vmware-tools-distrib/vmware-install.pl -d 

The Desktop/vmware-tools-distrib is the directory where the vmware-install.pl file is located. So don’t confuse yourself with this command.  😀

7. When the installation has completed successfully, reboot the system to apply the changes.

How to Install VMware Tools in Kali Linux? Kali Linux is most commonly used inside of VMware Work Station and Player, one of the best virtual machine manager program for Penetration Tester and Network Administrators that creating the testing Lab. For Kali Linux WMware is better then the other Virtualization software. It has the ability to drag and drop files directly to virtual machine and using PnP devices with out any problems. These functions are not work correctly until you have install the VMware tools or drivers on Kali Linux.

So this is about How to install VMware tools and integrate the Kali Linux virtual machine with the host Windows 8.x or another Windows operating system. To install Kali Linux read “How to Install Dual Boot Windows and Kali Linux?” if you don’t know the installation.

While you are loges in as root user to Kali Linux, mount the VMware tools to Kali Linux and extract it.

The VMware tools auto open the contents of VMware tools. You can see all VMware tools contents.

Now copy the VMware Tools to the desktop with drag and drop or through command line. I using cp command to copy the file.

The file coped successfully. Now try to extract the file with tar command line extractors tool.

root@Technig:~/Desktop# tar -xf VMwareTools-9.9.0-2304977.tar.gz
root@Technig:~/Desktop# ls
VMwareTools-9.9.0-2304977.tar.gz        vmware-tools-distrib 
root@Technig:~/Desktop#

 

The task accomplished and go to VMware-tools-distro folder and run the install.pl file.

root@Technig:~/Desktop# ls

root@Technig:~/Desktop# cd vmware-tools-distrib/
root@Technig:~/Desktop/vmware-tools-distrib# ls

When the installer launch, it will be asked some yes/no questions during the installation about what features you want to install, answer all these questions however you want.

After the installation has completed successfully, once restart the Kali machine to start using the new added options that VMware tools allows you.
