We are going to show you the easy way of making a Windows 11 UEFI Bootable USB for Installing Windows 11 or upgrading Windows 11 security. The 3 options we are going to make a bootable USB are Microsoft media creation tool, PowerShell command, and third-party application Rufus software.

The media creation tool is easy and a recommended option by Microsoft, but the rest are working perfectly.

Make Windows 11 UEFI Bootable USB

To make a Windows 11 UEFI Bootable USB correctly using the Microsoft media creation tool:

1. Download the Windows media creation tool.
2. Run the media creation tool.
3. Once it is opened, click Accept the application notices and license terms.
4. Select the language and edition you need, or use the recommended options for your PC, then click Next.
5. On the Choose which media to use page, select USB flash drive and click Next.
   • Note: The ISO file option will only download Windows 11 with the selected language and edition.
6. For the Select, a USB flash drive page, select your USB flash drive and click Next to begin downloading Windows and making the USB drive bootable.
   • Note: The files on your USB drive will be deleted. Back up your USB drive files to another safe location.
7. Once downloading Windows 11 has finished. Close the application, and your USB drive is ready for installing Windows 11 on another PC.

This Windows bootable USB is ready for Windows 11 clean installation and upgrading Windows 10 on an offline PC.

If you read my old article about creating bootable USB with Diskpart for Windows and Bootable USB for Linux, then you know the usage of a bootable USB. So in this article we are going to make a bootable USB with PowerShell command  for Windows operating system.

A bootable USB contains the Windows setups files and you can boot your system through USB flash drive. It works better and faster than DVD, or you may not have access to DVD but a USB drive is always near your hand.

Make Bootable USB with PowerShell

First you need to connect your USB drive to your computer. Windows 10 is more than 4GB, so try to use a USB flash drive that has at least 8GB capacity.

1. Press Windows button and type PowerShell then press Ctrl+Shift and press enter to run PowerShell as administrator.

2. Type “Get-Disk” and press enter to see the connected USB flash drive and your system hard disk.

3. To format a USB, type “Clear-Disk 1 -RemoveData” and press enter. It will remove the USB files. Make sure that assign the USB number not your hard disk.

4. The disk cleaned successfully. Now type “New-Partition -DiskNumber 1 -UseMaximumSize -IsActive:$true” and press enter to create the partition and activated as active disk for booting system through USB.

5. Now type “Get-Volume” and press enter to list all volumes or drives. Find the exact drive you want to format.

6. So, type “Format-Volume -DriveLetter K -FileSystem NTFS” and press enter to format the drive.

Finally the USB drive has formatted successfully. To install Windows with this USB, you must copy the contents of Windows image or DVD to this Bootable USB drive.

A Bootable Kali Linux USB flash drive will help you to run the Linux every where like PC, Mac and Linux.

In this article we learn how to create a live boot-able USB for Kali Linux the the hackers and Penetration tester Operating System. To do so, first you must download Universal USB Installer from here  and continue like bellow instruction to completely create a boot-able USB.

1. Run the Universal USB Installer as administrator and click I Agree button.

Now according to screenshot, select Kali Linux from step 1 and select the image of Kali Linux from step 2. This is the Image that you have downloaded before. If you don’t have the Kali Linux IOS image yet, download the latest version from here.

In step 3 select you USB flash drive. Be careful your USB will format, backup your date of USB drive before continue! Tick the we will format D:\Drive as Fat32 and click Create.

Now you will see a warning about formatting your flash drive, just click Yes to accept it.

This will take a few minutes to extract the from hard disk to USB drive.

When the installation has compete, close the window.

To boot you system with this USB go to your system BIOS and set the boot option to USB then save the settings and reboot the system.
