2. Pick the Rectangle tool and draw a big rectangle as the size of the art board and use fill it with gradient use the following color codes (D00175)(5A0219)for gradient color stops, and change the type of gradient yo Radial.

Background

3.

This is a beginner tutorial for those who like to create 3D objects in Illustrator, during this Illustrator 3D Revolve Options tutorial, we will introduce all the Illustrator 3D Revolve Options step by step to help you get familiar with this great feature of Adobe Illustrator. We will also create logo with this feature.

Introducing Illustrator 3D Revolve Options

Before we start the tutorial you need to install Adobe Illustrator on your system, its not matter which version of Illustrator you have, but if it is up to CS5 it would be better.

1. Open a new document go to File> New click it, or use the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+N). So name your document (3D Revolve) use Basic RGB from profile presets and click OK. as I did in image bellow.

New document – Technig

2. The 3D Revolve works on any paths but its a little difficult to know how to create what you want, if you do not use this feature before, but we are going to explain it for you, so if you want to create an sphere, first draw a circle and use direct selection tool to remove one anchor point of that circle as bellow.

Half Circle

3. Now select the half circle and go to Effect> 3D> Revolve click on it, in 3D option you will see two more options (Extrude & Rotate) don’t worry about these two options we will introduce it in other tutorial. SO after clicking on 3D Revolve option a new window will pop up and your half circle changed to a nice sphere, the color or your sphere depend to the color of your circle. You can change it any time you want.

Illustrator 3D Revolve Options – Technig

4. If you want to apply any image or other objects on you sphere, how to do that? It is very easy the first thing you need to to is make you material and save it into Symbol Panel. OK I create some lines then I grouped all and drag it to the Symbol Panel, a dialog box pop up click OK.

Symbol Options

5. Now select your sphere layer and go to Appearance Panel there you will find 3D Revolve with orange color, click on it the 3D Revolve Options window will opened, click on Map Art Option at the bottom of the panel a new window will pop up as bellow.

Map Art – Illustrator 3D Revolve Options

Illustrator 3D Revolve Options – Technig

In this top 5 Illustrator tips tutorial we will show you five best secret of Illustrator that every designer must know these tips for their job or work, If your are a beginner, it is no matter its for you as well.

Top 5 Illustrator Tips Designer Must Know

We have Illustrator CC 2015, if any of this tips does not work for you it may not available for your Illustrator version.

Tip 1: Do you ever use Envelope Distort? If no, this tips is for you. So create a text and rectangle shape, add an anchor point at the top middle of the rectangle than move it a little up till it looks like envelope pocket. the text must be at the bottom of the shape than select both of theme and use align Vertical align center and Horizontal center align property to align the shape and text like image 1. Now go to Object>Envelope Distort> Make with top object the result should be like image 2, you can use any kind of shape to do it.

Tip 1

Tip 2: I love the Blend option in Adobe Illustrator, if you read this tip 2, you will love it too. So pick the pencil tool and draw two or more wavy lines with a different colors, I use Pencil tool to make the two lines. the line should be smooth, see image 1 below. When you create the lines select both of them then go to Object> Blend> Make. your project will look like image 2 below, to add more lines again go to Object> Blend> Blend Option a little window will open, from Spacing use Specified Step give a number click OK the lines will look like image 3 it is depend to the numbers you have given, your design will not looks like mine, play with that till you find the best result for your design.

Tip 2
